DO MY ESOL STUDENTS HAVE LEARNING DISABILITIES?
Based on the manual, "Do My Students Have Learning Disabilities?" this workshop is designed to give an interactive opportunity for ESOL instructors to understand how learning disabilities relate to second language learners. Participants will gain knowledge of hindrances to learning, screening and assessment issues, and planning of teaching students suspected of having LD. Specific LD screening tools will be demonstrated to and practiced by participants. Case studies will be introduced and analyzed in order to apply all information presented.
Each participant will receive a copy of the manual, as well as handouts of screening tools.
Date: Friday, May 23, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Lunch is on your own
