[Sabeswest] Adult Literacy Awareness Day / March 22

Executive Director of MassALL.

"Adult Literacy Awareness Day" will be held at the Massachusetts State
House in the Gardner Auditorium at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 22,
2007.  Former and current adult learners, along with practitioners and
general supporters will meet at the State House on "Adult Literacy
Awareness Day" for the rally to re-acquaint ourselves of the power we
have to create positive change for the field of adult education and thus
for the improvement of the quality of life for a larger number of the
citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

At the rally, speaking will be current students and graduates of adult
basic education (ABE, GED,& ESOL) programs, as well as elected
officials, and organizational supporters such as the Boston Adult
Literacy Fund (BALF), LVM (Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts), MCAE
(Massachusetts Coalition for Adult Education), MWA (Massachusetts
Workforce Alliance), & more!  After the rally current students and grads
will visit with elected officials from their various districts. 

Let's have a strong turnout to show the public and elected officials
that supporting adult literacy education is a wise investment.  Bring as
many students from your program as possible.  We are expecting adult
learners & practitioners from all (5) SABES Regions to be in attendance.
