[Sabeswest] Holyoke Even Start's Adult Educators Resumes,etc

Hi everyone-

As many of you might have heard the Holyoke Even Start Family Literacy
Program was not selected by the Mass. DOE for FY'08 funding.  Due to
massive Federal cutbacks the state was able to fund only 4 programs down
from the current 22.  Over the past 5 years we have had the great pleasure
of serving over 150 Holyoke families in need of ESOL.

I have attached the resumes of our two Adult Ed instructors, Susan Dixon
and Julio Claudio. Both of these individuals are dedicated and talented
instructors, please consider them if and when you are hiring.  We need to
support our time proved instructors and keep them within the adult ed
field via employment.

I want to thank all of you for the great work you are doing in the field
of adult education in Western Mass.  I especially want to thank the
numerous people and programs that have participated in the Holyoke Family
Literacy Coalition during our existence.  The issues still remain on how
do we serve the Holyoke families in need of English acquisition, so their
children can thrive educationally and the parents obtain decent paying
jobs. I encourage those currently involved to please continue the
important and vital work you have all started.

Since I will be leaving my position at the end of August, I will be
resigning as the Western Mass. representative on the Mass. Coalition for
Adult Education (MCAE).  I strongly encourage you to consider stepping up
and volunteering to join this incredibly important organization.  Though
my tenor was short I firmly believe we need a voice or two from this part
of the state- I don't have to explain why- you already know.
