There are a few slots left for "Learning Disabilities:  The Basics," that will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006.  (If you have already registered, there is no need to register again.  You should have received a confirming email to your registration.)

We are excited to have Michelle Faith Brown and Nicole Graves leading this workshop.  They both are certified Bridges to Practice trainers and have taught ABE and ESOL respectively for many years. Description:
    This workshop will provide an overview of the different typesof learning disabilities that may be manifested in the ABE classroom.  Throughout the workshop, participants will get an opportunity to experience a simulation of some of the Learning Disabilities presented.  There will also be an exploration of LD screening tools and discussion of LD appropriate instruction via a variety of activities.  This workshop is designed for those who would like a good foundation in learning disabililties.  It is based on both the YALD Learning Disabilities Awareness workshop from several years ago and the Bridges to Practice Training.
