Part Time Pre-GED instructor needed

General Description:
Flexible, creative, and dedicated educator needed to teach basic 
academic skills to adults in the HCC Adult Learning Center located at 
CareerPoint in Holyoke.

Requirements:

* BA required or 3-5 years teaching experience
* Must have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching in ABE (Adult 
Basic Education) or high school teaching experience
* Able to teach beginner algebra and geometry
* Able to comfortably work with a diverse population
* Patient, learner-centered philosophy
* Organized and committed to adult education
* Able to teach in a classroom of 12-14
* Computer skills required
* Bi-cultural, bi-lingual a plus
* Flexible, open, and sense of humor

Responsibilities:

1) Plan and implement 2 classes per week, (7 hours teaching, 3.5 hours 
preparation time) at the Pre-GED level in compliance with the 
Massachusetts ABE Curriculum Frameworks.
2) Conduct ongoing assessments of learners
3) Maintain individual student learner logs
4) Meet with program coordinator on a weekly basis
5) Attend mandatory trainings and professional development
6) Other duties as assigned

HCC Adult Learning Center Coordinator

About the Position:

*Tuesday and Thursday evenings
*10.5 hours per week / $21.85 per hour
* Professional Development Support
* Tutors provided for classroom assistance
