SAVE THE DATE!

SABES West is excited to announce that once again, we will be holding "College for a Day."  The date is Thursday, March 15, 2007.  
Registration forms, brochures and more information will be mailed to programs and announced on this listserv in January.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the event, "College for a Day" is an opportunity for ABE students to come to HCC to experience what college is like.  There is a keynote speaker (who is usually a former ABE student who went on to college) and students can take two classes of their own choosing, taught by HCC Faculty.  The event is held during Spring Break at the college so the classes are just for ABE students.  There is also a lunch at the end.  New this year will be an area of tables where there will be information and representatives from various support areas at the college as well as admissions, financial aid, etc.  

This event has always been very popular.  Last year, we had over 150 students who came and there were many more on the waiting list.
