REGIONAL SURVEY DATA MEETINGS
At the October 2006 Directors' Meeting, ABE Directors
heard a summary of the results of the Massachusetts
ABE Student/Staff Survey commissioned by ACLS. Upon
hearing the results, many participants suggested there
were differences between the statewide data and their
experiences in the regions and ACLS committed to regional
meetings to compare and contrast the statewide and
regional findings.
************************************
The WMass meeting is scheduled for Friday, Jan 19 from
10 - 1:00 in Room 301 of the Kittredge Center at HCC.
************************************
The intended results of the meeting are:
1) Participating stakeholders will understand the purpose
and process for the development of the ABE Statewide
Strategic Plan.
2) Regional survey data will be compared and contrasted
with the experiences of participating stakeholders.
3) Participating stakeholders will generate regional implications
for consideration in developing the ABE Statewide Strategic
Plan.
Bill Bloomfield, facilitator for the ABE Statewide Strategic Plan,
will facilitate these regional meetings. Anne Holbrook, ACLS
Community Planning Developer, will present the regional results
of the Student/Staff survey conducted by Noel Levitz. Each
meeting will include an overview of the ABE statewide strategic
planning process, regional survey results, and breakout sessions
to compare and contrast regional survey results with the experience
of regional stakeholders and generate implications for the ABE
Statewide Strategic Plan.
ABE administrators, staff and students, local workforce investment
board (aka REB) staff, local career center staff, ABE Advisory
Council members, and ABE Community Planning Partnership
members are invited. ACLS looks forward to the robust participation
of a broad sampling of stakeholders so as to capture the diversity
of experience of the Massachusetts adult education community.

I encourage you to attend if your schedule allows. It will be
a great opportunity for WMass participation in this planning
process.
