HOW DO YOU FIND GOOD BUSINESSES FOR YOUR COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT? What are some easier ways to get started?
TIP #1 Use your local Chamber of Commerce.
a.. Ask for a Major Employer list.
b.. Ask for the Chamber's membership directory and look for businesses (large and small) by business category (i.e. Manufacturer or Hotel or Financial Service) to round out your list.
c.. Check out the Chamber's Education Committee to guide you to businesses that are already committed to education.
d.. Find out if the Chamber has any business-education partnerships in place.
Do you have any other tips or questions on how to find good business partners for your community assessment?
Send your reply to partnerships at lists.literacytent.org or directly to me at claudine at capital.net and I'll start a TIPS sheet for all of us to share!
