COMMON SENSE APPROACHES TO BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS WITH
BUSINESSES

Have you been wondering what are some constructive
ways to engage the business community in your
partnership? Or thinking about how to approach the
business community for the community assessment?
Many partnerships across the state have been asking
about those questions. Join us for an online forum
from May 1 to May 17 on "Common Sense Approaches to
Building Partnerships with Businesses" that responds
to these timely questions.

We are fortunate to have Claudine Chavanne, a
community planner from the Central Berkshire area with
loads of experience in the business world, including
10 years with the Chamber of Commerce, as guest
speaker for this event.

Claudine will describe some of her own experiences in
finding common ground and building relationships
between the adult basic education and business
communities. She will also field listserv members'
specific questions about building relationships with
businesses in their own communities. Claudine is a
believer in learning through sharing experiences,
successes, and challenges. This is a great
opportunity to share what you have learned and the
questions you might have in working with the business
community with colleagues across the state.

If you have any initial issues and questions about
this topic that you would like to see in the
discussion, please post them to the list or email me
at lisa_deyo at yahoo.com before April 30.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Lisa
