Hi Folks,
Listed below are a few guides to community assessment that might be helpful to partnerships as they work through options and strategies for their community assessments. The three guides listed below focus on the use of the assessment as a product - - 'an exercise that identifies the strengths, concerns, and conditions in community' and describes 'community 'assets, resources, activities, gaps, barriers, and emerging needs' -- and a process to gain community and agency commitment and support. What made these particular guides stand out for me was the fact that they include strategies for identifying both assets and needs in addition to their practice and action orientation. Are there other resources that have helped you in the assessment process that you would like to share with colleagues on the listserv?
