of drill pages, all neatly filled in, but Jenny still couldn't read!  She 
lived in a non-print world!  Purcell-Gates worked with her, and started her 
out by asking her to describe in writing a work day, which she did.  Vicki 
then typed it out, corrrecting the spelling, and Jenny said something to the 
effect that " I never read my own words before."  As a result of this method, 
Jenny was able to GENERALIZE her reading ability to other contexts.
