By the way, after reading Archie's posting to the list, it seems to me that 
his experience as an adult learner and the experience of others as adult 
learners is  crucial to sound policy-making.  The recent conference he 
described shows how extraordinarily fruitful an exchange can be between 
doctors and learners--actually the doctors become learners, too.  This kind 
of exchange is a tremendous source of valid information.
