Dougie,

I found Tom's Research Note hilarious. We have tons of stuff that is
supposed to be transformative thrown at us all the time. Myself, I have not
read the FOB issue in depth. I will. I will try to find if any of the
research cites tie-in with research on the brain and development because that
is my focus. I like to try to see if I can ground my understanding in what
has been established in this field. Perhaps there is a simpler, more
parsimonious way of understanding Kegan's results, or the MI results. Maybe
there isn't. Kegan puts his stuff out there for critique, not to be believed
but to be analyzed and to be used if it is useful.

Tom Sticht is sui generis. If research stands up to any threats to validity
he can throw at it then he will say so. Researchers also duel and challenge,
and what he writes is part of an academic tradition. You are joining in the
duel and challenge, as am I. Let's see if anybody else wants to enter the
fray. It makes for a lively and sometimes hair raising list.

Speaking as one who has been frayed, I remain your obedient servant

Andrea Wilder
