[NLA] House Proposes $55 Million Increase for Adult Education

Last week, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor-HHS-Ed proposed FY
'02 funding for federal adult education and family literacy programs,
including a $55 million increase for adult education state grants. The full
House Appropriations Committee will meet this afternoon to mark up the
Labor-HHS-Ed bill, which is expected to go to the House floor for a vote on
Wednesday. The Senate Labor-HHS Appropriations Subcommittee is slated to
mark up its FY '02 bill Thursday morning.
