[NLA] NLA Discussion: Adult Literacy Programs' Response to 9/11

I think there should be adult literacy programs available for everybody who
wants to be in one. I figure learning to read and write the language of the
country you are in is a primary defense against the horrors of Sept. 11.
I'd probably try to locate programs in public libraries or through public
schools. It should be possible for an adult to sign up easily and
conveniently.
I'd use billboards--Adults, learn to read and write English, sign up at your
local school or public library. No time for shyness at this juncture.
