Dear subscribers,

I apologize for duplications of this message that you might receive.

The Institute for the Study of Adult Literacy at Penn State periodically
publishes the MOSAIC newsletter, which focuses on research and practice in
adult literacy. Mosaic publishes scholarly articles, reviews, case
studies, and reports of best practice

The next issue's theme is Welfare Reform and Adult Basic Education. Recent
publications have highlighted several challenges facing the literacy/ABE
field in meeting the demands of Welfare-to-Work legislation:

1. preparing the "hardest to serve" for the workplace.
2. collaborating with other social agencies.
3. providing follow-up support for welfare-to-work graduates.
4. addressing the needs of single mothers as they prepare for the workplace.

Mosaic would like to hear from you regarding how you see the field
responding to these challenges.

General Guidelines:
1) All submissions must conform to the Publications Manual of the American
Psychological Association except where modified in these guidelines.
2) Articles should not exceed 1000 words.
3) Submit one hard copy and one disk version of your article. The

title of the article, and types of computer and software used.
4) Please include your affiliation, phone number, and email address with
your submission.
5) Submissions should be postmarked no later than Monday, April, 19th.
