It's great to hear from you and thanks for your question about the
adult literacy research network, which I referred to in a recent post
to this list. I chose to answer your question via the nla-list because
I thought the answer might be of interest to others.
Here's the information I have. Three federal organizations--NIFL, OVAE
and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development
(NICHD)---granted $18.5 million in grant awards to the "first adult
literacy research network." A press release about this is dated
10/03/02 and provides a list of the six funded studies. You can access
