An important omission to my overly quick summary of reading research in adult
literacy--Daphne Greenberg has done some interesting studies that compare
adults and children who test at the same level. She has also done some work
on how adults respond to instructional programs designed for children and
teens. I'm sure Daphne could do a better summary of her work than I could.
Forgive me for any and all other major omissions. My main point in my
previous post is that there is this small body of case studies that are
interesting and helpful and maybe not thoroughly mined.
