Daphne, I agree with all of Hal Beder's comments below. No matter
what, I'd opt for retaining the Adult in your title. You may have to
offer some reasonable alternative to your Dean, however. Perhaps
adding the word Child as you suggest will do it. Use of the term
Lifelong Learning (for which I'm a strong advocate and which I worked
hard to advance during many years at the Ford Foundation)) is a good
way to lose the adult focus AND the literacy focus. When it's lost
sight of, it's usually lost -- I've seen it happen over and over
