[NLA] name of center

The points that you raise are exactly why I am scared. I do not want my center to be part of the general trend of what is happening to adult literacy. However, the Dean is insistent that the name will have to change. He wants the Center to expand to include children's issues. I am fighting as hard as I can and as a result of my struggles, he has proposed to change the name of the center to the Center for the Study of Lifelong Literacy. I have suggested that if we have to change the name, we need to keep the word Adult in the name, and therefore have suggested the name Center for the Study for Adult and Child Literacy. He is not thrilled with that name, but I think that if I fight hard enough for it, I may get it. So, to clarify my question:
The current name is Center for the Study of ADULT Litercy.
The Dean is proposing: Center for the Study of Lifelong Literacy.
I am suggesting that the name needs to include Adult in it, and am therefore suggesting the name, Center for the Study of Adult AND CHILD literacy.
I am wondering whether people see a need for me to fight this fight-or should I just settle for the name he is proposing (Center for the Study of Lifelong Literacy). In other words, what are the implications of one name over the other (lifelong vs. adult and child)?

With huge state cutbacks, no adult educators on the NIFL Board, etc, etc.,
adult literacy is threatened as it has not been in many years. At the same
time, the Bush Administration is focusing all its efforts on No Child Left
Behind. Keep your current title. IT DOES MATTER!
