[NLA] Discussion: CBO's as Key Players

Just to piggy-back on Jon Randall's observation that:

QUOTE: Nancy's message illustrates why I feel there is a single
adult education and literacy system, which includes two
subsets: those programs that receive federal funding and
those that don't. As Nancy points out, what happens to one
subset DOES impact the other subset. END QUOTE

I would also note that as workers in a marginalized profession, no
matter how you look at the funding, we ought to be mindful at every turn
of the opportunity to advocate and educate the world at large as well as
our next door neighbors about the tremendous need for adult education
programs.
While we are carrying that out, it helps to remember that the world at
large as well as our next door neighbors are probably clueless about the
distinction between federally-funded, and non-federally-funded,
programs. In that case, the " < rising tide DOES in fact raise all boats
> " image holds true.. the greater the range of folks who ASSUME that
adult education services are prioritized right up there with the
"recognized" programs, the easier our task as educators and advocates
becomes.
