[NLA] Discussion: Prooposed FY'04 Adult Basic and Literacy Education Budget

Earlier today, Debbie Yoho wrote:
"David and Jon, could it be that some of our advocacy
efforts of the past two weeks had an effect on the Bush
proposal, which I thought initially included a reduction for
adult ed?  If so, who do we call to thank?"

Debbie, I think the numbers in the Administration's FY'04
budget recommendation were done before we began the push to
prevent cuts in negotiations on FY'03 appropriations. We
could not confirm the rumor on a possible FY'04 cut. I'm
hoping that either the rumor was false or that our asking
about it back in December helped prevent it.
