Hi Catherine,

I agree with you about critiquing theory. This brings to mind the difference 
between "subjective knowing" and "constructed knowing" in "Women's Ways of 
Knowing." It's not that everything is equal, but that coming to a commitment 
in relativism (is that Perry'd term?) needs to happen on all levels, most 
importantly the individual and local levels, and build from the ground up, 
and it's an ongoing process. It's not something that can be done once, 
enshrined in federal or state policy, and forgotten about. Nor does it have 
to delay taking action--we need reflection-in-action.
