I said Sawyer's and Walsh's offices won't alert me as each cosigner comes
in, but here's another one: John Larson (D-CT).
Forty-four *is* doable. Just keep making follow up calls until your
Congressperson's legislative assistant for education tells you his/her boss
agreed to co-sign the letter.
The more constituents they hear from in each district the more likely it
will be that they sign on. So at this point, literacy supporters who didn't
write CAN call to follow up on your letter ... "John Smith faxed a letter to
your boss urging him/her to sign the Sawyer-Walsh letter about the National
Institute for Literacy. I'm calling because as a fellow constituent, I too
hope your boss will sign it."
