NLA Colleagues,

From e-mail messages I received through today, at least the following
Congresspeople were sent letters urging them to sign on to the NIFL
Director "Dear Colleague" letter (and the Secretaries of Labor
Education
and HHS were mailed copies.) Please remember to _fax_ your
Congressperson -- and _mail_ the secretaries.

Mark Kirk, 10th district in Illinois (2 faxes)
Michael Capuano, Massachusetts (3 faxes)
Barney Frank, Massachusetts (1 fax)
Ron Simmons, 2nd District, Connecticut (1 e-mail).
David Price, North Carolina (1 fax)
Anthony Wiener, Brooklyn, NY (1 fax)
Langevin, RI (Letter and call)
Patrick Kennedy, RI (letter and call)
Steve Rothman, NJ (Letter)
John Olver, Western Massachusetts (e-mail)
Russ Holt, NJ
Henry Bonilla, San Antonio, TX (fax)

Katie Shriver in Congressman Ted Strickland's office
(D Ohio) who, in a conversation, said she would contact Congressman
Sawyer's office and get a copy of the letter so the congressman could
sign on

called and wrote DeWine's office (Ohio) requesting that he co-sponsor
the Dear Colleague letter

Ted Strickland (Ohio)
Ralph Regula (Ohio)
Timothy V. Johnson, 15th district (Illinois)
Albert Wynn (Maryland)
Bernie Sanders (VT) (2)
Jim Saxton (NJ)
Martin Sabo (Minnesota)
Sen. Arlen Specter (PA)
Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) (fax)

Total: 25

Thanks to these 25 people -- I hope others have sent faxes but
just have not e-mailed me yet. Glad to see Maryland, New Jersey, New
York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Minnesota, Illinois, Massachusetts,
Connecticut, Vermont and Rhode Island. Glad to see North Carolina, but

where is South Carolina? Glad to see a contact to a Texas Congressman,

but aren't there others on the NLA list from Texas who care about this

issue? Where is Georgia, Florida, Louisiana? Where are the northwest

and southwest states? (California, Washington, Oregon -- there are NLA

list members in those states.) Where are the other midwestern states?
(Indiana, Iowa and others?) Where is Tennessee?

It's not too late.

Can you spare 15 minutes for a good cause?
