[NLA] Neo-conservatives

I second Debbie's comments! And I'd like to add that though it can be
frustrating to feel you're swimming against the tide on this list, I've
found that it's the disagreements that prompt me to think more deeply and
reflect on just what it is I believe, and why.

Furthermore, though the source of the feeling of isolation may be different,
the experience is one that many adult literacy students are immersed in. For
each of us to develop her or his own voice, and the courage to use it to say
something unpopular, may be one of the best lessons we can share with
students.
