[NLA] Phoneme Awareness is the Key

George,

>From your narrative it is clear to me that you base your teaching on phonemic 
awareness.  Where a relationship has not been mastered you stop, explicitly 
teach it, then go on.  

In the back of "Other People's Words" VPG has a very interesting description 
she uses with sudent writing, and the results of her work with her adult 
learner, Jenny.  It reminds me of "successive approximation,' which I think 
Chomsy discussed, but Elsa Auerbach is definitely a better source here than I 
am.
