[NLA] NIFL Advisory Board Nominees

Christi and or others:

Is Senator Kennedy's office aware about the widespread concern within the
field about the fact that none of these nominees have substantial
background in adult literacy? If so, can someone shed light on what the
public response of his office is to the nominees? If not,one wonders what
that says about the power of citizenry advocacy given the letters, faxes
and phone calls that his office has received on this.

I realize the issues are complex and the president generally gets a pass
on his/her nominees, but not always when there is significant field
concern/protest, which, admittedly hasn't risen to the level of what one
may refer to as mobilization.
