Hi All,
I am currently conducting research in the effects of explicit teaching of
phonological awareness skills on L2 reading. I am working with adult subjects
(over age learners & those with interrupted schooling) who are familiar with
a Roman alphabet but who have low or no literacy skills in their L2. The
language of instruction is English, but native language literacy skills are
developed as well. My question is, does anyone have any references of studies
of this type with either L2 learners (not studies about students from
non-Roman alphabet backgrounds' phonological awareness- I have looked at a
great deal of the literature on that issue).
I'll post a summary of responses, and thanks in advance for any help you
might offer!
Best,
