NLA Colleagues,

I have updated the list of state, regional and urban literacy coalitions
which do adult literacy public policy advocacy. The updates are based on
information from several members of this list who have checked the accuracy
of information from their states, and from Edith Gower, Executive Director
of the National Alliance of Urban Literacy Coalitions, who has updated the
urban literacy coalitions. Thanks to those who have contacted me. I am
concerned, however, that I have only heard from a handful of states. Does
this mean that the list is accurate, or that only a few people have checked?
The list will be found at:

		http://www.alri.org/advocacy.html

*Please* go there and check the information for your state, region
and/or city, and e-mail me (not the NLA) immediately with any additions,
deletions or corrections.

An accurate list of advocacy organizations will make it easier for those who
want to join adult literacy public policy efforts to find like-minded people
in their states and communities.

Thank you.
