[NLA] Certification, state-approval, and the AELS

Dear Nancy,

I think that all my education has lead me to be able to ask really dopey 
questions of people who know radically more than I do about adult literacy, 
and to apologize when I go off the deep end on one of the nla topics.  Being 
part of the nla and the other nifl list servs is like getting a very special 
fellowship, where I can be in touch with truly knowledgeable professionals, 
like yourself and others on the list serv who have devoted themselves to 
adult literacy.  I am really in awe of people who just jump in and do it--and 
continue to jump in and do it, day after day (and night after night). From 
you guys I have learned A TON about adult literacy, and people on the list 
servs have been really generous with sharing their information with a 
newcomer, because that's what I am.
