Dear George,

Yoicks!  What I am saying is this:

1)  Validity and reliability have many faces, definitions, ways to 
operationalize, according to the type of study you are doing.

2)  There is legitimacy in many types of research.  This is not an either/or 
discussion.  Look at the NCSALL studies.

3)  With respect, I am not suggesting a bilingualism of research traditions, 
there are many research traditions.  

4)  I am not trying to allay suspicion of the political intent of the 
Bush-Paige Department of Education.
