Absolutely, Deborah.  Sorry.  I meant that in the first place.  

You see, every *month* the volunteers in THIS one-to-one program are *expected* to "ask" their learner and record their reaction as part of the final lesson of the month.  "Did we do good this past month - did we accomplish the goals you and I discussed at the first lesson of the month" is the process.  The learners' monthly evaluation and progress reports are mailed to me.  I read them.  So it's part of *my* memory bank.  And when I don't feel their "reaction" tells me the learner's satisfied and is achieving, I *call* the learner.

When I said "asking ourselves" that would be part of the questioning for **me**.  Maybe that's not true of all programs.
