[NLA] a proposal to "save" the NIFL

Although I do not represent any organization, I would like to weigh in on 
Andy's proposal.  I think if Andy and Alice Johnson, who worked at NIFL and 
who have much experience in the halls of power in Washington, are advocating 
this, we should take it very seriously as a field.  I think it is a bold 
move, and one that positions us as serious about our work, and as having 
integrity about it.  If a marginalized field sends back money, we are making 
a clear statement that we will determine the direction of our work and that 
it is important enough in its own right to merit such a step.  Debby D'Amico
