[NLA] ILD enters the 21st century

I have just returned from Paris for work on the International Jury for
UNESCO literacy prizes. I am especially pleased to report to users of the
NLA list and other internet sites that this year the International
Literacy Day awards will include an Honorable Mention recognition of an
internet web site as a resource tool for adult literacy workers. This is
the first time the internet and a specific web site has been officially
recognized by UNESCO for its practical uses for the advancement of adult
literacy in the world. The UNESCO literacy prizes have entered the 21st
century!
