[NLA] reviewing the certification literature

The discussion of teacher certification prompted me to do an ERIC database 
search using the keywords "teacher certification" and "adult." I did a 
preliminary sort through the 600+ citations that were returned and saved 19 
of them--I probably missed some that I should have saved. The earliest is 
from 1976; the latest from 2000. Interestingly, the earliest deal with the 
same issues that are being discussed on the list now. A few are tangential 
(dealing with the same issues in England or Australia, for example), a few 
are opinion pieces (for and against), and a few are research studies and 
literature reviews. I've attached the list to this message.

If anybody's interested in collaborating on an updated lit review, please 
contact me off-list (nothing intense; I have only a few hours a week to 
spend on this).
