[NLA] Legislative victory for adult literacy

I am beginning to work with parents of children from birth to 0-6 on
improving these preschoolers language skills by improving the interaction
skills between parents and children to allow for more "conversations"
between them. I am using a program "You Make the Difference" from the Hanen
Centre in Toronto.
My Question since you have worked so hard to attract and keep adult
learners....what are your tips on how to do this? I already have hit upon
offering childcare, transportation and dinner with the program, but would
love to hear any other ideas you have found effective.
The program is designed for at risk, parents and literacy is carefully
considered in the materials and presentation, still I feel there is a
segment of the community who could really benefit from the program and may
not choose to become involved unless they can be attracted somehow. Any
ideas?

Nancy,
Does "adult education" just apply to GED? And "adult literacy" apply to
ABE?
I am trying to get straight on terms. Is there general agreement on use of
these terms? Is it just usage, or funding, too? Thanks.
Andrea
