Somehow my last message got sent without my conscious thought.  However.

I think I said something about capitalism and democracy being words from two 
different worlds, one economic, the other political;  they are often used in 
a sloppy fashion, a reason for close definition.  I am not a discursive 
thinker or writer and 
I don't think we need to do hard thinking, but rather some thinking.  We need 
many more informed voices in this conversation.

Bush talks about a strong defense, it seems to me that an educated and 
healthy citizenry is a terrific defense, and I wonder why I don't hear this 
in the news--a bunch of parrots, very little analysis
