I can't speak to Senator Boxer's motives, or to anyone else's, for
that matter. Whether or not blocking the nominations, or proposing
more qualified candidates is substantively different, it feels
crucial that we make our voices heard in order to ensure that NIFL be
able to carry out its mandate of addressing the needs of adult
literacy learning. We are not necessarily publicly shaming the
administration; we're calling on our elected representatives to
represent the interests of adult learning.
