[NLA] NIFL board nominees

Re : NIFL Board Nominees. The list of Board nominees is just that...a list of 
names. Report on Literacy did add a few sketchy details. At the last 
Coalition meeting in Dec. we had a long discussion. Of the 20 or so 
organizations present the conclusion was not to "block" nominees but to bring 
to the administration's attention (or Senator's) the fact that there are no 
adult education' nominees. 
I'm sure Senator Boxer would like to "block" the nominees. She will do most 
anything to make the administration look bad. Remember blocking nominees is a 
favorite way of one party embarrassing the other. We in the field want to 
make a strong point about changing the focus of NIFL but we don't want to set 
up an adverserial position with the administration.Please consider this 
before enlisting the "help" of any policy congressional office. Thank you
