Dear Jose,

Thanks for such a comprehensive answer, it really opens up the topic.  

Partly, you are saying, that for many people the price is too high, therefore 
there is no "market" for your goods.  And a personal relationship plus more 
accurate information may make an exchange possible.  The personal 
relationship starts the process of exchange, the give and take.

Also, literacy may not fit into life goals, or other goals may come first, 
seem more necessary to fulfill.  

A quote from what I am reading:  "A child who is denied the opportunity of 
elementary schooling is not only deprived as a youngster, but also 
handicapped all through life (as a person unable to do certain basic things 
that rely on reading, writing, and arithmetic)."
