Dear All, I wonder what Jane Oates has to say now! If I am hearing correctly 
Senator Kennedy's Office and his friends have been hearing from the field. 
Great. Keep your letters and calls coming. One legislator once told me that 
5-8 calls on ant topic was a "mandate?"
I also have to emphasize that we as educators have not always been seen in a 
positive light as advocates. We are perceived (as a group) as not 
appreciating the political process which goes on with every issue. Thank you 
for responding to this latest issue...But good advocacy is not just reacting 
to a single issue...it is a on-going dialog with  policy makers.Those groups 
who can afford a paid lobbyist have their issues reprented on this kind of 
bassis.
