Daphne , I have always regarded education as a continuum in learning.I think 
many of our problems began when we fragment learners into  "slots" whatever 
they may be. Everyone is a learner but of  perhaps a different style.Some 
current research, i.e. learning stylesm multiple intelligences, etc. have 
given us new tools and new strategies. But i do believe our really barrier is 
how we look at education. What is so sacred about K-12? Of course, there is a 
whole process of re-education involved. But I look at the traditional school 
calendar and its agrarian roots. Do kids still take time off to help with the 
harvest? Just some of my thoughts...I like to think of people as a 
whole...physical, spititual, intellectual,etc.Really, I havent lost it in 
retirement. JC
