I'm adding to my previous email.

We also need to know the items Carl posted on December 12, viz:

1) Basic learning issues
2) How to screen students for listening, speaking, reading, writing,
spelling abilities, learning styles or learning disabilities.
3) Adequate instruction in all these areas given student learning strengths
and weaknesses.

The above is somewhat paraphrased. by me, but it's Carl's work.

If we say we're advocates we have to know these things, I see no way around
it, none. For doubters, I've done the reading, I've done the analysis, I've
done the teaching. I've gone to the conferences, listened to the speakers
and read their books. I do not have the answers that others on this list
have, but I have a solid enough foundation to enable my own continuing
growth. And people on this list have helped *****immeasurably*****. There
is literally nothing new in what I've said, here, read the emails from other
professionals on the many nifl list servs.

Andrea
