[NLA] NLA Info/Request: Potential Opportunity to Get Literacy into People Magazine

NLA Colleagues,

People magazine is looking looking for people to profile in their upcoming 
"Teenage Hero" report.  The reporter hopes to find teens who overcame a big 
obstacle or helped someone else overcome a big obstacle, rescued someone, 
battled illness, did some heroic act, etc. If you know of a teen -- student 
or volunteer -- involved in a literacy program who might be appropriate for 
this kind of recognition (and the accompanying good PR for literacy!) please 
forward a few sentences about her/him to me ASAP at 
alicejohnsoncain at hotmail.com, along with a contact name and phone number 
that the reporter can call if she wants details.  I will forward all of the 
responses that I receive by noon Tuesday.  Thanks!
