Following on Andrea's note re: 3rd person singular pronouns, I submit a new word, s/he, for consideration. Often in English, we add italicized (s) to a noun when the potential exists for the noun to represent a plural, so there is precedent for using punctuation within words. To contain the (s) in s/he within italics, though, could be seen as an effort to contain the feminine dimension of the pronoun. Therefore I submit s/he -distinction without containment, and a reverse on the "Adam's Rib" order of events, with the male now being drawn from the original female.
