To SGabb, Perhaps the overenrollment indicates more awareness than you are 
giving participants credit for...Why is it assumed that overenrollemt of the 
conference indicates a lack of awareness. Adult educators serve the "most in 
need populations"..they are more sensitive than most to the social issues 
which have brought their students to classes and support services we offer... 
Perhaps attention should be directed to the topics of the workshops being 
offered at the COABE conference, as well as the credentials of those offering 
these workshops...
Yes, we all need tocontinually learn about those issues which prevent some 
citizens from enjoying the benefits of our democratic society.
The boycott mentioned deals with the past...COABE addresses the present...let 
our energies be there.
If I knew what the agenda of the regional discussion was, I and others might 
consider participating...I hope it is more than telling what we already 
know...that there are injustices and inequities which must be addressed by 
every organization. I still believe that boycotts punish the wrong people...

 society.
