NLA Info: Adult Literacy Taken Very Seriously -- in the U.K.

For those who want to more fully consider the U.K.'s strategies on adult 
literacy (to wit, the recent reports under discussion in this listserv), I've 
been advised that the best source in the U.K. for a thoughtful ongoing 
critique, and a well-informed, independent perspective is the website of The 
National Institute for Adult and Continuing Education (directed by Alan 
Tuckett).  The website (well worth a visit) can be found at
