NLA Colleagues,
Each year I ask all subscribers to evaluate the NLA list. Then I
summarize the comments, and post the summary to the list. I try to use the
evaluation data to improve the NLA and the NLA list guidelines.
I hope you will participate this year, even if you are new to the NLA
list, that you will answer the questions below and e-mail this back to me
at <DJRosen at world.std.com>, not to the list, by Friday, March 16th.
1. What do you like about the NLA list?
2. What about the NLA needs to change, to be improved?
3. What advice do you have for people who post messages to the NLA list?
Examples: "Please be brief," or "I really like the longer, more
reflective messages," or "Please, keep focused on public policy" or I
like that the discussion is wide-ranging." This is an opportunity for
>constructive< criticism, a way to let us all know what you read, and what
causes you to hit *delete*. I will summarize comments and none will be
attributed to any individual.
4. How do you use the NLA? (Type YES in front of all that apply to you.)
a) I read and think about the messages
b) I pass messages on to colleagues
c) I use the messages in class with students (Please indicate what
kind of class this is: college, basic literacy, basic skills,
ESOL, or other)
d) Sometimes I fax messages (Please indicate to whom? e.g. members
of a state or local literacy coalition or public policy group?
Colleagues in other programs? Others?)
e) I have quoted NLA messages in articles I have written.
f) I have included NLA messages, or parts from them in my
publication.
Other Comments?
Thank you for answering these questions. Please email this to me by
March 16th at
