NLA Info: Federal Legislation

I attended a session at the NCFL conference last month in Dallas that had 
former Rep. Goodling and a current congressman who is a medical 
doctor...can't remember his name.  They urged all of us to contact our 
federal representatives (more emphasis on them than senators, for some 
reason)with the concerns that Laura mentions in her original message (below). 
 This is real.  The reason given by the panel was the lack of empirical 
evidence that such an expensive program makes a change....seems like even if 
you have good longitudinal data(like Hayes has), if you don't have an 
experimental design, you haven't proven anything. ..these types of studies 
are very expensive and difficult to conduct. I have more info, but do not 
have my notes with me.  Was anyone else on this list at that session?
